Spicy Hummus

Spicy Hummus

Bean dip, dressed up. Serve it at parties and people will think you're fancy.

Ingredients:
  • 2 cans chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • cayenne pepper
  • crushed red pepper
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • olive oil

Instructions:

Throw all of the above into your food processor and blend into a paste.  Slowly add olive oil and the water that you drained from the can of beans until the hummus is nice and smooth... not too thick, not too runny.

Serve with warm pita bread, baked pita chips, or even as a sandwich spread, with cucumbers, tomatoes, and lettuce.
