A favorite during family holiday times. This is a wonderful "everyone helps with something" treat. From Southern Living "Holiday Contest Winners".
Yield: 1
Prep time: 45 Minutes
Cook Time: 15 Minutes
Course: Appetizers
Ingredients:
- 1 French baguette
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 (14 oz) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
- 1 (4.5 oz) can chopped green chiles, drained
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Garnishes: chopped green onions, chopped tomatoes, crumbled bacon
Instructions:
Slice baquette into 36 (1/4-1/2") slices; place on baking sheet. Bake at 400 for 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Combine mayonnaise and next 4 ingredients; spread on bread slices. Bake at 400 for 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Garnish if desired and serve immediately. Serves 3 dozen. Note: I usually broil for just a few seconds to brown up the top of each appetizer. Also I usually make different combinations of garnish - a few plain, a few with just onion, some with just bacon, some with two items and some with "the works". Everyone seems to have a favorite!
