Story HighlightsReceiver placed on injured reserve with designation to returnExpected to be back for game vs. Cowboys on Dec. 15James Jones (knee) could be ready to play Sunday against BrownsThe Green Bay Packers put receiver Randall Cobb on injured reserve with designation to return, meaning their leading receiver will miss at least eight games.

Cobb, who has 29 catches for Tom Savage Kids Jersey 378 yards and two touchdowns this season, suffered a right leg injury on a low hit from Baltimore Ravens rookie safety Matt Elam in Sunday's game.

Coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Cobb would miss "multiple weeks" but didn't provide details on the injury or the timeline.

The designation to return tag means Cobb will be eligible to practice after six weeks and play after eight making him eligible for the Packers' Week 15 game at Dallas on Dec. 15.

Fellow wideout James Jones has a left knee injury but could be ready to play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, McCarthy said Monday.

The Packers had only two other receivers, Jordan Nelson and Jarrett Boykin, on the 53 man roster before promoting Myles White from the practice squad Tuesday.
