Dad's Frosted Dreams

A flat molasses cake/bar--a family favorite for generations! Not sure whether "Dad's" refers to my grandfather or to some other ancestral figure!
 
Ingredients
  • 1 c, sugar
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 2 t. baking soda
  • 2-3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/4 t, ginger
  • 1 t. cinnamon

Mix in order given.  Sift soda with flour.  Bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degree oven.

Glaze with any powdered sugar glaze recipe.
