Grammy Award gospel megastar Karen Clark Sheard was originally advertised as the headliner. KCS was Wholesale Jerseys later co billed with Detroit based gospel singers and evangelists Deitrick and Damita Haddon. Sheard's name was later dropped and the Haddons headlined Sunday's event.
You'll recall that Deitrick Haddon was the first major name in black gospel music to speak out against fellow gospel singer Tonex's confirmation of his long rumored sexuality. "All Gospel singers are not Gay as I don't have a sissy bone in my body," Haddon ranted on Twitter.
The National Organization for Marriage will conclude its summer hate tour Wholesale Colts Jerseys on August 15 on the steps of the United States Capitol in Washington. The "Summer Marriage Tour" has been poorly attended so far but the final event may draw a crowd: Grammy Award gospel megastar Karen Clark Sheard and Dietrick Haddon.
Sheard is the former member of the The Clark Sisters, the best selling female gospel group in history. Their iconic 1980's hit "You Brought The Sunshine" was the among the first gospel singles to became a major crossover hit on contemporary R radio. Sheard has performed with Donnie McClurkin and last January, the duo received a Grammy for Best Gospel Performance. Sheard is a member of the Church of God in Christ the largest Pentecostal denomination in the United States and well known for attracting many closeted black
gay men, many of whom are her biggest fans, adds Darian Aaron.
Sheard and her siblings are often credited for blending the sound of popular music with gospel. Sheard's brand of gospel music along with her daughter's, gospel sensation Kiera Sheard is no stranger to gays and lesbians and Cheap Colts Jerseys can be frequently heard inside gay clubs. If there was any doubt regarding where Sheard stood on LGBT rights, despite being apart of an industry and a religious denomination
overflowing with gay and lesbian people, her upcoming performance in
support of stripping a segment of the American population of Cheap Jerseys their civil
rights will deliver a strong answer. It's a sad day when a voice that has the power to heal and unite people is being used as a weapon of mass destruction.
Detroit based gospel singer and minister Deitrick Haddon will also perform. Haddon was the first major name in black gospel music to speak out against fellow gospel singer Tonex's confirmation of his long rumored sexuality. "All Gospel singers are not Gay as I don't have a sissy bone in my body," Haddon ranted on Twitter.
NOM is apparently
attempting to partner with the rabidly anti gay COGIC, which is the nation's second largest black denomination. In June NOM presented the top two COGIC male and female leaders with an award. District Judge Vaughn Walker's Proposition 8 ruling.
Alveda King, niece of slain civil rights legend Dr. Martin Luther King, headlined NOM's poorly attended Atlanta rally over the weekend. But the August 15 rally will be undoubtedly have the largest marquee names on NOM's hate tour. Will Karen Clark Sheard and Deitrick Haddon be able to attract a crowd? And will Karen Clark Sheard's performance at the NOM rally hurt her standing among her many Black gay fans? The first question remains to be seen but sadly, I think we all know the answer to that last question .
UPDATE: NOM is no longer advertising Karen Clark Sheard's appearance. NOM's website now only lists Deitrick Haddon for August 15.
Brilliant. Tonex became the first to do so in black gospel music and shattered its well guarded glass closet doors.
Kelefa Sanneh writes (pdf): "Many of his fans wondered what took him so long. One day when he was eighteen, he told his parents that he thought he was bisexual. His father said, "You need to go listen to some gospel records," and his mother just cried. Not long afterward, Pastor Williams preached a sermon
in which www.wholesalecheapcoltsjerseys.com he decried "faggots." (The next week, Pastor Williams apologized
to the congregation for his choice of words.) Tonx says, "Perhaps he thought
that by speaking on it so harshly it would make me turn the other way." When
Tonx started preaching, he occasionally denounced homosexuality, too, partly because such denunciations work so well. "You can talk about a slut, a hussy, a heifer, a player, any other subject you are not going to get the response you get when you start talking

Ndamukong Shu and the Detroit Lions are barely alive in the playoff hunt. But they let the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers hang around. The NFC will feature the Seattle Seahawks, who shut out the New York Giants this past week. The New Orleans Saints currently hold the number two spot, but Carolina is hot on their heels to try to take the NFC South from them.
The AFC features the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs clinching spots. Since both are in the AFC West, that means only one wild card spot is available.
The Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers all won to keep hope alive. This caused a Cheap Bears Jerseys crazy week for yours truly in the picks. I went 8 8, bringing my total record to 138 86.
Get ready to say goodbye to physicality behind the plate.
Major League Baseball plans to ban home plate collisions by 2015. If passed, it means next season will be the last time a base runner can run over a catcher.
When I first heard the news, I reacted almost like everyone else. I was shocked; getting rid of physicality in any sport is sacrilege.
However, the growing number of injuries helps to understand baseball officials.
The increase of concussion awareness is astounding. The National Football League limits helmet to helmet hits, which is effective. More players are going for tackles instead of headhunting.
They're not alone. The NFL, NBA and even the WWE test their athletes through concussion symptoms and determine when or if they can return. But concussions aren't the only problem for catchers.
San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey suffered a broken bone in his left ankle after Florida Marlins (now Miami) outfielder Scott Cousins ran him over. The injury cost him the rest of the 2011 season. The following footage from The Franchise: A Season with the San Francisco Giantsmay be difficult to view, but incidents like these are what MLB is trying to prevent.
MLB received plenty of support from former players, including former catcher Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez. He told the NY Daily News he never suffered a concussion. However, he stated how the new rule would be good for the game.
"You see a lot of collisions at the plate in the past, a lot of catchers getting concussions," said Rodriguez. "You saw (Cardinals manager Mike) Matheny retired (from playing) because of that Wholesale Bears Jerseys situation. It's not easy."
There lies www.wholesalecheapbearsjerseys.com/ the problem with home plate collisions: it puts the players at risk. Rodriguez agrees with the rule because it would help make the game safer.
There still will be physical play in games, such as outfielders trying to gage the wall before attempting a catch. Games will still have great defensive plays, amazing pitching performances Cheap Jerseys and home runs.
Collisions, however, aren't worth the risk of a baseball player's career.
That's it for today. Remember to check out the Facebook pagefor the Update. Don't forget to like me on Facebook, follow me on Twitter and keep on reading. Until then, see you next time sports fans.

Jim Harbarugh shouldn be angry, as his San Francisco 49ers beat the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. They take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers December 15th. The playoffs are starting to take form. However, it's a slow burn to determine who will vie for the Lombardi Trophy.
The Saints ended the Panthers' streak definitively to control the NFC South. The Seahawks failed to clinch the division thanks to the 49ers. Denver clinched a playoff spot over Tennessee. But the snow games in Pennsylvania each told unique stories.
The Eagles came back and unloaded on the Lions, while the Steelers were a "foot" away from beating the Dolphins on a wild finish.
Let's take a look back at what I got wrong. I went 13 3, bringing my total record to 130 78.
Hello, sports fans! Welcome to Week 14 of the NFL season. We enter an intriguing week with
The Panthers kept on streaking; the Broncos regained control of the NFC West and the Wholesale Jerseys Seahawks stomped on the Saints Monday night. This makes Seattle the first team to clinch a playoff spot, but they haven't clinched the NFC West, yet. They have an opportunity to help their chances if they beat San Francisco this week.
Antonio Brown escapes iron Haden
CLEVELAND Browns cornerback Joe Haden is having an All Pro type of season. He has gone up against the game's top receivers and has won more battles than he has lost. Green or Larry Fitzgerald. But maybe Brown will start to get mentioned more often with the NFL's best after catching six passes for 92 yards, including a 41 yard touchdown against Haden in the Steelers' 27 11 victory Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium.
"No discredit to Joe Haden, I know he's a good player," said Steelers receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who had six catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. "But man, I've been with Antonio for four years. I've been around a lot of receivers. He's one of the best at doing it.
"If you try to come up and press this guy, good luck. You'd be better trying to play him off because he's so quick, and he's fast. I've learned from him and he's learned from me. We're just continuing to get better and we're continuing to show the world, 'Watch out for these receivers in Pittsburgh.' "
Brown's touchdown was a play originally called for Jerricho Cotchery. But Ben Roethlisberger saw Brown had a step on Haden and let loose with a high arcing throw. Brown had to wait on it and caught it at the 2 before tumbling into the end zone and securing the ball against his chest after bobbling it while going to the turf.
"I peeked outside to AB," Roethlisberger said. "He had a step on him, so I let it fly and he made a great play."
Brown said last week that he welcomed one on one coverage against Haden. The way Brown figured, single coverage no matter how good the cornerback is better than being double covered.
Brown beat Haden on more than the touchdown pass. He had receptions of 12, 9 and 17 yards on the drive before the Steelers scored.
How impressive was Brown's Youth Jarome Iginla Jersey performance?
Consider this: Haden held Green, the leading receiver in the AFC in yards, to two catches for 7 yards last week against the Bengals. In the previous 10 games, Haden lined up against a Pro Bowl receiver six times and limited them to a combined 17 catches, 147 yards and no touchdowns.
Johnson, Women's Tom Brady Jersey who had six catches for 179 yards and two touchdowns last week against the Steelers and Ike Taylor, had just three catches for 25 yards against Haden.
"Each week I'm going to go across from the best," Brown said. "I tip my hat off to Joe Haden, he's a great corner. It was a great matchup and a great opportunity for me to compete with him."
Brown has at least five receptions in each of the past 11 games, which is a team record. He also became the fourth player in franchise history to record 80 receptions in a single season, joining Hines Ward, Yancey Thigpen and John Stallworth.
Browns receiver Josh Gordon set the franchise record for most receiving yards in a game and tied the record for most receptions in a game. Gordon had 14 receptions for 237 yards.
Ozzie Newsome, a Hall of Fame tight end who is general manager of the Baltimore Ravens, held both records. Newsome had 14 receptions for 191 yards in a game against the Jets in 1984.
It was the best statistical day for a receiver against the Steelers in 14 seasons. Qadry Ismail of the Ravens had 258 yards against them in a 1999 Tom Brady Youth Jersey game at Three Rivers Stadium.
Gordon was matched up against Taylor for most of the game. It has been a couple of tough weeks for Taylor, whose job is to shadow the opposing team's top receiver. Last week, Detroit's Johnson had all of his yards in the first half.
On Cleveland's only touchdown drive in the fourth quarter, Gordon accounted for all 78 yards. He caught passes of 42, 19, 16 and 1 yard, the final one a fade to the corner of the end zone to beat Taylor.
"He had a good game," Taylor said. "He had a real good game. I didn't even know he had that many yards. He's a work in progress. He's going to be good in the AFC North when it comes down to receivers. It [can] be like that. You play against top notch receivers week in and week out. I tip my hat to him."
Gordon had 175 of his yards after halftime when the Browns trailed big.
"Honestly, it doesn't mean that much to me," said Gordon, who is in his second season out of Baylor. "After taking a loss like that, it means nothing. It is great for me as a wide receiver to get that experience, but if we can't go out there and win, I don't really care about it."
Safety Troy Polamalu had a sack, a fumble recovery, two forced fumbles and four tackles. He has a sack, an interception, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in the same season for the third time in his career. He also did that in 2005 and 2010, when he was NFL defensive player of the year.
"Just his presence on the field is enough for coordinators to game plan against him, let alone when he starts flying around and does what he does," Taylor said. "It's special. We're talking about a future Hall of Famer that I can say I played with. When Troy gets to being Troy and does Troy like things, it's great for the defense and the team."
It was another solid effort by players who were called on to play bigger roles because of injuries. Outside linebacker Jason Worilds again moved from the right side to the left side to play in place of the injured LaMarr Woodley. Worilds responded again with five tackles and a whopping six quarterback hurries. His shoestring tackle attempt in the first half on Browns quarterback Jason Campbell temporarily knocked him out of the game.
Safety Will Allen, who is playing in the dime defense in place of injured rookie Shamarko Thomas, had three solo www.officialpatriotsauthenticprostore.com/patriots-tom-brady-jersey-c-5_12.html tackles and a 49 yard fumble return to the 4 that set up a touchdown.
Allen also had a big game last week against the Lions www.officialbruinsprostore.com/Authentic-Jarome-Iginla-Jersey when he intercepted a pass and forced a fumble to go along with seven tackles.
And Ziggy Hood started his second game in a row in place of defensive end Brett Keisel, who had been questionable with a foot injury. Hood was credited with two assisted tackles and was part of a defensive front that limited the Browns to 55 yards rushing.
Nose tackle Steve McLendon left the game in the first half with an ankle injury and did not return. McLendon left the stadium in a walking boot.
Reserve cornerback Curtis Brown left the game in the second half with a knee injury. Coach Mike Tomlin said both had to be evaluated.
