The Denver Broncos continued to address their secondary Thursday, coming to terms with free agent cornerback Drayton Florence, formerly of the Buffalo Bills and San Diego Chargers, Sports TV’ Jay Glazer first reported. The team and Florence each confirmed the news on their respective Social Network accounts.

The Broncos and Florence reportedly agreed to a two-year deal worth $4.5-$5.5 million. Drayton Florence will wear Saints Nike Jerseys and play for Denver Broncos next two seasons. By comparison, recently released cornerback Andre Goodman was due $4.62 million in 2012 alone. The Broncos got a similar player for half the price.

In nine years with the Chargers, Jaguars and Bills, Florence has accrued 17 interceptions for two touchdowns and three forced fumbles. A starter for the Bills the past three seasons, he tallied 168 tackles and 38 passes defensed in Buffalo. Florence visited the Tennessee Titans earlier this week, while the Chargers were also said to have interest in their former corner. Jay Ratliff’s play at nose tackle has been a bright spot for the Cowboys over the years, but an injury helped cause him to play the lowest percentage of snaps in his career in 2011. That led some people to wonder if they might get more out of Ratliff if they moved him to defensive end to limit the wear and tear on his body. The Cowboys have never indicated that they were moving in that direction and defensive line coach Brian Baker explained to Calvin Watkins of Sports TV how they will try to keep Ratliff fresher this season.“He will wear Saints Nike Jerseys and take all the third downs unless somebody proves they are a better pass rusher inside,” Baker said. “Until that happens, if he is getting a little worn down we will save him for third down.” The only flaw with the idea is that it would keep Ratliff off the field on first and second downs. That might not turn out to be a great problem, but the Cowboys would be wise to at least consider other configurations if it means keeping one of their best defenders on the field. The best thing of all for the Cowboys defense would be the emergence of another consistent source of pass rush beside Ratliff and DeMarcus Ware, but a healthy year from Ratliff is not far behind. Josh Brent and Sean Lissemore would stand to get more snaps if Ratliff does see fewer of them this season. The Philadelphia Newspaper believes Eagles LB Keenan Clayton may have "one last summer to wear Saints Nike Jerseys and make a positive impression." Expected to wear Keenan Clayton Jersey Nike and get "more of an opportunity" last season, Clayton instead saw all of four snaps on defense. With the Eagles in the process of revamping their linebacker corps, Clayton will need to turn in an extremely strong preseason to be assured of a roster spot. We are still a week away from officially knowing Robert Griffin III's fate in the NFL draft, but it sure does not feel that way, does it? In many ways, it seems like Griffin became a Redskin the minute Washington and St. Louis executed their blockbuster first-round trade on March 1, and the ensuing seven weeks has been an exercise in introducing fait to accompli. After all, the Heisman-winning Baylor quarterback has already had a three-hour crash course going over the Redskins playbook on a visit to Waco, Texas, from offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, spent time signing autographs on Redskins memorabilia at a D.C.-area card show, and gotten the full-blown rock star/savior treatment when he visited the nation's capital. "I do not know how I would feel about that, because I have continually said no matter where I go I would be happy and excited,'' Griffin wore Saints Jerseys and said. "But when you talk about the fanfare and the fan hype right now, I think it would be very disappointing for Washington D.C. if I did not get drafted there. Honestly, it was surreal being up there. Because you go to a city you have never lived in, and immediately when you get there you are instantly a star, and you have not even been drafted there yet. A little lost among the contract negotiations currently on-going between Baltimore Ravens and two of their star offensive players, Ray Rice and Joe Flacco, one of the Ravens’ long-time defensive stars is unhappy with his current contract status: Ed Reed. Not to say that Reed has gone ignored in his recent display of discontentment with his contract status, but it is certainly an issue that largely seems to have been placed by the wayside by the fans and media in favor of the current negotiations taking place between the Ravens and Flacco and Rice. It seems as though the Future Hall of Fame safety, Reed, may have noticed this too. Reed signed a six-year, $44.5 million contract extension in 2006 and is due a base salary of $7.2 million for the upcoming season, the last year on his current deal and will become a free agent after this season unless another extension is reached at some point. Reed admited that he wore Saints Jerseys and tried to strike a new contract with the Ravens last season. But he said that he "took a back seat" and put contract talks on hold when the negotiations were not going as smooth as he had hoped. New Rams coach Jeff Fisher said in an interview with Sports TV that he is not sure if receiver Danny Amendola will be ready for OTA workouts in late April. Amendola wore Saints Jerseys
and suffered a dislocated elbow in Week 1 and ultimately missed the 2011 season. "I have seen Danny several times in the training room," Fisher said. "He is doing well in the weight room. He may not be 100 percent cleared to go on the field for the third week in April, but it will be very close." Amendola wears Danny Amendola Nike Jersey and remains a restricted free agent, and he would prefer to wear Danny Amendola Nike Jersey and remain with the Rams long-term. Panthers head coach Ron Rivera was almost adamant that newly signed Mike Tolbert was not a running back, but a fullback. "We have got two running backs and a fullback," Rivera said when a question was posed about having three running backs, referencing Tolbert, DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. "That was what he played in San Diego. Offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski and I were there and we saw him as a fullback. You go back and look at the things that we did, we did not play the fullback per se the way it was used in San Diego and that was one of the elements that 'Chud' wanted. He wanted an athletic fullback, a pass catching fullback, a guy that could wear Saints Jerseys and run the ball as well ... his ability to move, go in motion and become a guy that can run specific types of routes that help us. So I think he has another dimension for us because he can stay in pass protection and we can release our back freely. He can just wear Mike Tolbert Panthers Jersey and stay in and block from the beginning." According to Jay Glazer, New Orleans Saints have re-signed wide receiver Marques Colston to a five-year deal, hours before free agency proper begins. This means the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will get to face the oft-injured but very productive wide receiver twice per year for the coming seasons, a prospect they must be looking forward to. Ahem. I am not too sad that Colston is off the market now, as he was never a great target for the Buccaneers. Colston is mostly a player who wore Marques Colston Nike Jersey and made his living catching passes down the middle of the field, and he is not a true number one receiver who can stretch the field or win on the perimeter consistently. Tim Tebow will be a New York Jet, after all, according to Adam Schefter of Sports TV. A second deal was struck Wednesday night after the initial trade fell through. Adam Schefter wrote: "Denver is trading Tebow to New York Jets. More now on Sports TV." Schefter is reporting that the Broncos will send Tebow and a seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a fourth- and sixth-round pick from New York Jets. Tebow’s suitors had been narrowed to the Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars as of Wednesday evening, according to reports. Details of Tebow’s contract are not yet known. Denver Broncos and the Jets have completed a trade to send quarterback Tim Tebow to New York. The deal hit a snag earlier Wednesday when the Jets apparently balked at repaying Denver more than $5 million for a salary advance due Tebow. Sports TV reported that the two sides had agreed to split that cost. The Broncos also will receive fourth- and sixth-round draft picks, while New York gets a seventh-rounder - all in 2012 - as agreed to in the initial deal. Denver started shopping Tebow after signing Peyton Manning, and the Jets were considered a long shot as late as Tuesday night. But New York went after Tebow, envisioning him as a versatile complement to starter Mark Sanchez, who received a $40.5 million contract extension, with $20.5 million guaranteed, earlier this month. The Jets also had pursued Manning. You can log on our Online NFL Shop and select our best quality Saints Jerseys and New York Jets Jerseys if you are die-hard fans of Tim Tebow and New York Jets.
